Morning guys. How was your weekend? Lately, I have been spending a lot of time in my own little bubble. DIY’ing, clients and work have been top of mind for me. Until this weekend, I wasn’t even aware that we are a mere 6 weeks away from Christmas.
So, imagine my shock when I walked into our local shopping centre on Saturday, to find it decked with red and gold.
I was really impressed by the Christmas selection available this year. Even shops like Game and Checkers had lovely things on display. The one palette that stole my heart was the light blue and red. Add a few stripes and a dash of Polka dots and you have yourself a whimsical winner.
I love decorating our home for Christmas and I always try to do something special. This year I’m in the mood for something a bit traditional, but with a Lelanie touch- of course. I adore the sweet jars and the paper straws. These vintage touches complete the look for me. I’m considering this palette for my Thanksgiving event. There are so many décor options with this look.
I found some beautiful Red and blue inspiration on Leslie’s blog over at A Creative Mint. Her colour stories never cease to inspire. Leslie is a whiz at using items she has in her studio and home to create something beautiful.
This look has loads of decor options- Add lace for a feminine touch or alternatively, add a quirky mod feel with a Union Jack.
I love the paper elements she used. How about graph paper place mats? I am quite excited to explore this palette further.
What is your Christmas colour scheme this year?
